If I remember correctly, Brentford pulled out of a deal for him because their medical department had found a significant issue with him, though I can’t remember if it had something to do with his knee, I’d have to look it up. He’s really talented but doesn’t strike me as consistent, though, I’d ideally like a more consistent winger at the moment, even if his ceiling was lower than that of Diomande or Barcola.

If Fernandes is going to Spurs for 85M, Tonali is going to to Spurs for up to 100M, and Anderson for 116M, then Curtis Jones has to fetch at least 60M.

How much are they paying these players to get them to go there?

Multiple Champions League qualifications? Remind me where Spurs finished last season

Same position they finished the season before.

works fine for spurs and not so much for newcastle if those conditions are not met. but 92 million pounds, damn thats like 107 million euros before add ons. that anderson midfield tax is real

midfield and wing market is crazy

Every market is crazy except maybe the goalkeeper market

In fairness we blew that one up.

And he was worth every penny.

Yeah Curtis Jones just became a Ā£100m player. He’s significantly better than Tonali.

I really don’t get the hype around Tonali. Ā£100 million is way overpriced.

Paying 130m for Isak last year feels a lot less excessive now Tonali is going to that amount

But Tonali can actually get on the pitch.

Isak had a shit world cup to end his shit season with us

I thought he looked sharper than he looked for most of his (limited) time on the pitch for us this past season. To my mind he is working his way to optimal fitness and will do well under Iraola, with two wingers helping to open it up and play him in.

Here’s hoping.

Except when he gets banned for betting on matches.

He had a better world cup than Tonali

On the other hand, I feel like us paying that for Isak makes us at least partially responsible for the massive market inflation we’re now seeing.
