Hmm Neto is alright and would be a solid performer but would be a bit underwhelming I think.

With the way the market for right wings looks, I think nearly anyone we sign since Diomande fell through will be underwhelming. If the price isn’t too bad that’ll help make up for a signing like Neto.

True, and at 26 we could get a few years from him and buy the next big thing.

There is surely another Diomance out there though.

Remember to post your source moving forward, it makes a major difference to people if they know whether it’s from someone at least semi-reliable or just something that someone random made up just for shits and giggles.

It shouldn’t be that hard.

At this moment in time the Diomande we wanted has yet to actually go anywhere. Nor the club it’s claimed he wants to go to made a bid.

I don’t hold out much hope but until he’s gone somewhere there’s still a slim chance.

This is why I didn’t want to close his thread. Seems I was overruled -_-

Ah I see it now… my bad

Trying to make sense of the Neto links. Good player. Not great for me, but good. Fast and obviously plenty of Prem experience.

Maybe we have looked at the market and the options, after Diomande, are not fully to our liking. So perhaps the likes of Neto will be sought while we give plenty of time for someone like Joshua Abe to make his way through?

Arguably we could go lower in age, to the academy market, to try to scoop up another 1-2 promising wingers while going with a Prem proven Neto in the meantime.

Edit
It would leave us with four options. Gakpo and Ngumoha for the left. Neto and Munoz for the right. Then depending on what happens with Gakpo, we might sign a replacement there.

Don’t forget Elliot on the right… as depth at least.

Neto seems to have stagnated at Chelsea, just feels he looks threatening without delivering much.

Not totally against the signing but would need to be on our terms, price wise.

I also feel that Iraola gets the best out of his wide men.

He does come perhaps order him to wear a short size one size larger… he can’t run in those ones he wears.

Fair play. I’m wondering what will happen there. Hopefully he has a chance to impress Iraola and he takes it. He has missed too much football and needs to see more action. My suspicion is a sale, arguably as part of a wider deal for a player we want in Germany, or at a team like Palace.

Either way, I like Elliott and hope he gets back on track.

Bradley Barcola’s future at Paris St-Germain remains unclear, with Arsenal and Liverpoolin the frame to sign the France forward, 23. (Talksport)

Liverpool and Netherlands forward Cody Gakpo, 27, and Manchester City and Brazil winger Savinho, 22, are on Tottenham’s list of summer targets. (Talksport)

The unreliable Talksport.

Just about to post the Gakpo one, Gakpo out Barcola in?

But we would then still need at least 2 more forwards, a RW and CF.

The more I think about Bowen would be a great stop gap as he covers both positions as a back up.

On RW, no idea who to go for as there are no standouts, maybe Minteh on agressive style of play but not production.

I´m not sure we can do any better than Barcola. I´d probably take that deal of Gakpo going and Barcola in.

I agree that there aren´t really any standouts, especially for the right wing. We could play Munoz and Rio there (making do) and buy a very good left winger (Barcola I suppose) if they are available but we would still ideally sign one more.

Really not sure who else. Yildiz looks promising, William Gomes at Porto looks alright. Still not lots of standouts. Can only think of Ez Abde in La Liga. Nico Williams if he gets back to his best. Maybe a Minteh or Savinho or whoever from the PL.

I would like a rough diamond that hopefully can be polished but pace is a key for me.

On Barcola, I didn’t watch the game but read that he struggled against Paraguay who were a low block?

Although, IMO not many forward players shine against a low block, just some have that quality they get one chance and take it.

The usual array of content aggregators running with this, 24 year old AM/RW/LW, started out as a Real Madrid youth player

2nd tier of Spanish football at 24? No idea about the player but seems a big step up to the PL at an age where it would seem less likely that he’s bought for the future/to loan out for a couple of seasons?

Looks like he played for them when they were in La Liga 2023-24 season then two seasons in the 2nd tier after relegation.

Last season showed a marked improvement with 25 goals and 7 assists after scoring 9 during each of the previous 2 so that might be why scouts are taking a look.
