The Unreliable Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 5)

I wonder if there is anything in the rumour that he didn’t take Trent because he and Jude had cliqued off and it was affecting morale.

I doubt it.
24 year old winger who managed 0 goals and 3 assists in 38 games in La Liga last season and has 8 goals in 139 appearances in the Spanish Second Division.

We aren’t that desperate.

His biggest approach is keep His team in the opposition half where they are closer to the goal, Curtis comes alive nearer the opposition 18 yard box.

Firstly, fans don’t pick international squads so this whole line is entirely redundant of any merit.

And secondly, pointing at Jones not being at the world cup but Henderson and Mainoo being there as some indication he’s not as good a player as them is equally as ridiculous as the idea Spence is a better player than Trent.

Tuchel has picked a squad based on more than pure footballing ability. Jones doesn’t deserve to be there but based on pure talent, nor do Henderson or Mainoo or Spence.

Tuchel falls out with people everywhere he goes. Normally it’s owners/chairmen and he gets his marching orders but plenty of times with players too. He’s trying his best to have an argument with Bellingham.

He may not like their personalities but a lot of people don’t like his. If he doesn’t win the world cup he risks it looking like he put his ego ahead of actually picking the strongest squad he could have.

Thirdly, nobody said he´s not as good as them or that Spence is better than Trent. You don´t even know what you are getting angry about.

I understand your point but perhaps I’m frustrated that we’ve lost established or promising players while keeping Jones. I’m not absolutely sold on any of those mids you mention either, with the exception of Scott who I would love and defo trade for CJ any day. Curtis was crap last season but so were others. Iraola is exciting to me because he can clearly improve players, like Klopp. So here’s hoping he maybe can turn Curtis into something better, but I bet he would rather have Scott. The truth is that we need more bodies so perhaps CJ does stick around as a squad member. I also expect Trey to get more playing time next season too.

He’s had his dust-ups for sure but that Bellingham thing is just a media invention - handbags or less. The lads he’s picked seem solidly behind so maybe he’s learned from the past.

Huh? Weren’t there people saying that he deserved to play more and called for Slot to play him in midfield, or have I gone crazy?

When was it established that Jones was crap last season?

He still managed 34 games but only 1 goal and 2 assists. If he wasn’t always played in midfield that’s because there were better other options. To avoid confusion, it’s me saying that’s a crap season but like I said, he wasn’t the only one.

Can we take all talk of curtis jones to the relevant thread

Since when did goals and assists become the core metrics for midfielders? By that logic, Fabinho, Mascherano, and Alonso were shit too.

Maybe and let’s hope so. History is not on his side but then pretty much every England manager before him has failed in picking the best players not the for the best team so it’s not on theirs either.

Will you give it a rest?

If you can only spout this tedious crap then why not go and enjoy the sunshine?
