The Unreliable Transfer Rumours Discussion Thread (Part 5)

Maybe it´s the natural fan desperation as the window progresses but I think I´d be pretty content if our other wing signing was Barcola. I think he´s top 3 options in Europe that we could buy.

Him on the left, Munoz and Rio on the right and capable of playing on the left.

If he came it would suggest he´s also happy to join a team where the manager is going to really work him hard. He could come here and by one of our main men and hopefully step up like Mane and Salah did, if his mindset is right.

For 100 mil or so, fine.

Surely nobody would pay 170 mil?

Would be an insane fee.

I would feel bad for the lad, there is no possible way he can live up to that valuation on the pitch. There will be a very vocal set of pundits constantly ripping his performance to shreds just because of that price.

100m is obscene but that’s football I think we would be open to paying that.

Not 150m though. I do wonder if there is a bit of musical chairs here. Glad to hear the lad is open to us as that’s a big thing.

Maybe that’s were we see it and that’s where PSG see it hence working it down.

No thanks, just like Diomande, 80m pounds would be barely acceptable, expensive but reluctantly acceptable. Anything more than that, we will need to go for the 2nd tier potentials.

The 2nd tier potentials will probably cost 80m pounds in the current market. Although with PSG messing around with the price and claims of wanting 145m pounds and actually stick to that. I’d be happy with laying the ground work with Barcola for him to join us on a free when his contract runs out.

PSG can shove their crazy valuation where it might feel good,no one is worth €170m and a 23 year old…..

There should be a considerate discount on account of the awful hairstyle.

With €170 million we can easily buy Wharton and Spence.

Dunno anymore sadly.

As I said our valuation is probably around the 100m and that’s probably how I’d pitch it.

I would hate for our club to dance to their tune if we had been allowed to speak to the player we just tell him we definitely want him but this is what we are willing to pay then go away and wait, I don’t even care if a Chelsea or shitty or RM turn up and muddy the waters. Incidentally I used to like RM but the past couple of years I dislike them intensely as they talk to our players with two years left on their contracts and pick them up for nowt. I think also the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth Brentford even Sunderland are going to find it harder to get young talented players on the cheap because as soon as they are interested in a player the big boys just sneak in and hoover them under their noses, notice how many young players Liverpool have bought in January as well as this window. In the thread of which player you would buy I have mentioned Mbappé,Dembele,Barcola,Akliouche and Tcherki and a few others when they were 17/18 and with a minimum value but no action taken or a punt on these players even if they eventually do not work out, it is a damned sight cheaper than trying to compete for them when their value is 100 times costlier.
