Diomande to Real hopefully starts some of the winger market moving. I expect PSG to get the finger out and complete Akliouche now.

Are Vinicius Jr’s wage demands too much for Arsenal?
Spanish football expert Terry Gibson on Sky Sports News:
"Vinicius Jr is currently on 15m Euros a year net.
"Real Madrid have offered him 20m Euros. He wants 30m Euros - just over 550,000 Euros a week net.
"There’s no budging on the contract from Real Madrid or Vinicius. Real Madrid are looking at a potential replacement in Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig. This [contract situation] has been ongoing for 18 months.
“But when you put those figures in the melting pot, it’s hard to imagine Arsenal or anybody in the Premier League matching those sums of money.”

how long is he out?
His passing range outclasses our entire midfield, especially in long passes, and he is also a homegrown player. In fact, he is the best passer in the League last season, statistically.
To rebuild our once feared transition game, we need someone who can make long-range passes that bypass opponents’ midfield, whom we lacked since TAA left.
Be lucky to see him before Christmas but probably later than that so he’s going nowhere for now.
Endrick would be an interesting option from Real but they seemed keen to keep him after a good half season at Lyon.
I do wonder if there’s a risk of PSG keeping Barcola and signing Akilouche too given they’ve sold Lee Kang-in already.
But I really think we need a left footer and struggle to see Barcola being the player we need and at a price that allows us to do the other business we need to.
Not panicking yet but we’ve got to start making some moves soon. We saw how hard it was integrating new players last summer. This summer we need to do that and get everyone on board with the approach of a new manager despite the delayed returns due to the world cup. We can’t afford the first 10 games to be a bedding in period for everyone.

100%. CB with experience is essential; whatever is left to get the best wide player we can afford. Barcola at £100m +/- £10m is probably worthwhile; if we can get it done now. What we don’t want is an Isak like repeat.
