THIAGO Alcantara: 2023/24

We have a sublime player waiting in the wings.

If he plays in ten games this season, he will have a serious impact.
I can’t wait to see him back. He doesn’t weaken anything, he makes us better. More top class choices.

Hasn’t been sublime in 10 out of his 97 appearances (from 200 possible) for us but now he is going be sublime in his final 10. Highly doubt it.

You dont rate him, and I do…
I think he was a major asset in his games, more than the ten you credit him with.

We probably won’t agree on this.

Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara, 32, is expected to leave Liverpool when his contract expires at the end of the season. (Football Insider)

Don’t think you need to be an “insider” to work that one out.

Be nice to see if he can make a cameo before he leaves.

More pertinently: “What club is this?!” :joy:

:sob:

No idea when/if he’ll come back. But if he ever does, this new look midfield is perfect for us and him.

We’ve struggled with press resistance just in front of the defence without him.

We might as well hold him back until early March and have him in prime condition for the PL run-in…

Well Fabinho and Henderson left too. That CM is going be confusing.

Suppose he will know Elliot and Jones.

Doesn’t sound as if he’ll be available before mid February.

Flop signing.

Bit OTT. Flop this season for sure, but overall, not bad.

High wages though - think he’s 2nd or third highest earner.

Any Thiago this season would be nice - we know how good he is if fit

Didn’t knew the thing with the wages. What a waste.

This month we’ve needed him the most with other players not available and the Cup games we have.

Thank god his Liverpool career is almost over.

Will get very few minutes let alone starts until June.

Others did the main work and we did very good without him.

Our midfields (as a unit) best 6 months since he joined - and that’s without him.

Expecting his remaining time to be phased out like with Keita and Ox last season.

Thing is…
He might just be the difference in getting us over the line for Silverware in a few months…!!

The club knew about his injury record etc so it was always a bit of a punt. I’m sure if they’d known how much he would be costing for so little input they wouldn’t have gone anywhere near him though! I’d be a bit embarrassed to pick up my wage packet if I was him though to be honest.
