Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) Real Madrid

He’s whispering sweet nothings in Mo’s ear. That’s flirting, not trolling.

Isn’t it against Mo’s religious beliefs to get ear tongued?

But now we know that he’s off in the summer 100%

If Real felt that was settled why would they throw money at it now?

Well, it’s the kind of question that drives up traffic on forums and social media, eh…

Maybe Real Madrid really need him now because they want to win another La Liga and CL title this season? In all honesty, their team has had a lot of injury issues this year.

Maybe they want to prove to him personally that they desperately want him, even by offering a fraction of what he’s worth to bring forward his arrival?

Maybe they want to unsettle him, make him force a transfer?

Maybe they want to flex and show the world how they always get their man, sooner or later?

All in all, I’ve consigned myself to the notion that he will leave but I haven’t made my peace with it. It doesn’t hit me the way Torres’ departure hit me because this version of Liverpool would have utterly destroyed the one Torres was leaving but still… He’s one of our own, a child of the club. I really hope he will stay and help Liverpool fight for trophies not just for years to come but for the entirety of his career, even if I’m certain it’s a battle the club are losing.

I don’t dismiss any of these as being possibilities, but logically all 3 are premised on them still feeling they have work to do to get their man.

If he is their first choice for next season then given their injury issues, and the fact that Vasquez hasnt been great as a stand in, from their perspective it might make sense to throw some money at it to get it done early. But that doesnt speak anything about what Trent is thinking.

Probably because they would prefer to have Trent now, especially given the serious ACL injury to Carvajal.

It fascinates me how fans are falling for their unsettling tactics hook, line, and sinker. It’s literally their modus operandi.

I’m not sure I follow? Fans falling for unsettling tactics?

As a fan it doesn’t unsettle me, at all. Doesn’t affect anything for me. Real Madrid are dealing with the club, and probably the player himself too, at the least via intermediaries.

I can understand how their approach might be unsettling to the player, or perhaps the club though.

Souring the relationship between the player and the fans by making it look as though the transfer is definitely happening, so the fans start getting upset, and then the player starts thinking staying isn’t worth it.

Serenity prayer time.

Alternatively, if Pool rejected their advances they could be confident he is going to resign?

If Real approach us about him so close to new year it’s very likely that they have already agreed terms with him.

You know as a free transfer the wages are going to be huge.

Don’t know why people are getting annoyed. Weve known since the summer him, mo and vvd can talk to other clubs from Jan 1st.
Clubs had ages to sort out these deals.

Three years ago Real signed David Alaba on a free transfer when he was 29 years old. He is on £360k a week.

So we’re probably talking about £400k for Trent.

And I think they have a dramatically lower tax rate too.
