I can never match your level of panache. But I can try

Yep.
He knows, the club knows.
Just get it over and done with FFS, its become beyond fucking tiresome.
Multi millionaires haggling over a few extra million is fucking nauseating

Of course they are, because they expect everyone to roll over whenever they call.
We have an excellent chance of winning the league this season and we surely won’t jeopardise that for a couple of million.

So the possibilities are:

  • Trent is looking to sign a pre-contact agreement soon to join RM or someone else in the summer
  • Trent is still negotiating a contract with LFC
  • Trent is willing to move in January and therefore RM is trying to negotiate with LFC
  • Trent has contract negotiations on hold with us. Or anyone else. With us, he might see it is more financially beneficial to be a free agent and negotiate from there? Are there any recent examples of players winding their contracts down to zero, checking the field but signing again with their original club? Or he may not want the in-season distractions of negotiations and wants to focus on football until the summer.
  • Trent has had no contact whatsoever with RM and RM are making up a load of shit.

IMO every one of these options is still open. I really am not going to contribute anything more than that as there is no point until it happens. No point stressing about such matters.

Above everything else. We have no play in this as fans of the club, just a revenue source.

Been down this road so many times over the years now, I can’t be arsed of a player stays or not.

If I were Trent, I’d be thinking hard about the success of players who leave LFC. Lots of battered and broken egos out there.

I mean, yes, there are a lot of bruised egos. But on the other hand, I don’t think Trent gets to his level without being ambitious and aiming for lofty goals.

I’m not saying winning in La Liga is a harder challenge (far from it) but that a player who can succeed in BOTH the PL and La Liga, to me, would get more recognition and respect if he wanted to go down in history as one of the greats.

Bellingham??? Could he make it in the PL? Probably, but who knows for sure until he does it.

Lots of battered egos among fans also, it seems, unable to accept something without adding or inventing more drama for no obvious reasons so far in this case.

We like to think that we know how a player truly feels and what are his motivations at different stages.

Even Carra does that with his “how will he come back to live in Liverpool when he finishes” argument. Mate, who knows and not everyone is the same. He should know that, being an ex-player and putting differences among them when he talks about other football topics.

I don’t know why would a player bother comparing himself to other transfers from the past which can have totally different context, etc.

It might not even be an easy decision.

As Liverpool fans, we’re much more often on the other (better) side of these kind of decisions, where players mostly want to come here rather than leave. We can have better or worse periods, but as a club for a while now, we’re also among that top football food chain.

So if sometimes there are players who want to try something similar, a bit different, or, yes, better (in someone else’s opinion than ours)… it’s fair enough.

On that topic, I wonder how Real Sociedad fans feel about Zubimendi…

They loved him last Summer when he stayed.
They will hate him when he leaves

Macca went to Real and won 2 CLs.
Suarez won the treble and la liga a few times.

Rare but there are the odd successes

Suggestion in another article that they wanted an agreement asap in case he changed his mind.

Which reads to me that he hasn’t yet decided.
