I don’t bear any ill will towards Trent, but I do think this is a really stupid decision on his part, and I predict he’ll be sold on to someone like Newcastle in a couple of years.
If he wants to win the Balon d’Or he should have stayed in Liverpool. He has absolutely no chance now. If Madrid have a season where one of their players wins it, they aren’t giving it to the fucking right back, are they?
Real Madrid have been known to work hard to ‘encourage’ voters to pick their player, perhaps they promised Trent they would put his name forward…(far fetched I know, but still not ruling it out!)
It’s nobody’s fault, it is a right time for a change.
My view is, I am sad that Trent is going but I do not begrudge the lad going to the best La Liga club in Spain who have been dominant in Champions League year in and year out for decades. Trent has won every single trophy there is, with our Jürgen. He gave his all to the club. We have to let him go with our blessing. A footballer’s working life is a short one. He has to make the most of it.
He experienced a year with Arne Slot. He wants to experience a new challenge, different culture, language, life and a new job in another country, with a plus of nice sunshiny days, when the rain has gone.
I wish Trent all the best at Real Madrid and I hope he wins trophies there except when he plays our club in Champions league. He will face challenges there and Real fans are very demanding. However, i think he is mentally strong to cope with it. I know his friend Jude will look out for him and show him how the Real Madrid culture works over there.
So, it is an emotional goodbye from me, good luck Trent, you will always be a Scouse legend for me " corner taken quickly".
God bless.
I want to change how our right side set up for years. Given Salah staying, then Trent leaving is maybe a good chance to change our right-side. The Salah-Trent combo always gives me an unbalanced feeling.
I wish him well, but I don’t wish RM well. Think he will find it tough, but hopefully the misfortune I hope for RM is not down to, or blamed on, Trent.
I see him spending atleast 2 years in Madrid. Even if he does fail.
Madrid might look to sell him , But I wouldn’t want us paying the transfer fee. As long as he doesn’t come back to another club in the premier league, i’m fine.
He will be lucky to get off the bench once in while. He should have spoken to Rush before deciding to go. Anyway good luck to him he may be fancying a bit more of the Spanish sunshine and the lifestyle.
