To Boo or not to Boo…that’s not the question, as I don’t fucking care anymore.
Trent who, as far as I’m concerned.

Maybe, but I do understand English and I’ve listened carefully to both sides of this discussion. I won’t apologize for expressing my opinion or participating as a foreigner btw.
I think a lot of supporters are disappointed with how he dealt with the situation.
Nobody in their right mind can begrudge him going to the biggest club in world football, but he could have been more honest and open about his intentions from the start.
Nothing beats a jet pack.
Bit harsh, there’s still a few weeks to go…
Nothing to play for, feet up in Ibiza and Dubai, doesn’t really matter now. He’s not part of the clubs future, and that’s what I care about.
That’s not to say I disregard what he’s done for the club, or his achievements.
We don’t know when he reached his final decision though. Most seem to think that he decided at least a year ago, I believe it was in February/March.
Is there anything that he could do to avoid upsetting the fanbase or part of it, in one way or another? In my opinion, it was inevitable.
Maybe in feb/march they gave up trying to persuade him to stay.
When he made the decision is irrelevant.
All he had to do was say that he was keeping his options open, etc.
That ridiculous meme really annoys me. I am scouse and I am proudly English and to my knowledge so are all my friends and family. We would all support the England football team. Maybe it is a generational thing but my experience of 70+ years in this city is that scousers in general are just as patriotic or not as anyone else in this country.
My only criticism is the timing of his announcement. Do it after the last game and the title parade, not before that.
It’s a minor point. He leaves with all my best wishes for his new experience.
Walk away quietly whilst the players are busy greeting and welcoming Frimpong
I wouldn’t say it’s that good of an opinion as to put an unquantifiable but no doubt substantial monetary value to it, but thank you.
Oh and if you’re looking for the actual point it’s up there somewhere
This is an important point for me. Being quiet is fine, but when you do speak you also need to address some of the damaging assumptions or opinions that are out there. These have filled the vacuum that was left and, without anything to counter it, are taken as truth or plausible by fans. Does TAA need to address these? No. But if he doesn’t then they stay out there.
It was no-win, but there are grey areas and if some of the questions were answered it might have made it better (or worse!). He’s gone to one of the biggest in Europe and it will offer him new and different challenges, a chance to prove himself on a different stage, new experiences. Can’t begrudge him that - it’s his career.
At the same time he’s gone to one of our biggest rivals and in a way which is significantly financially beneficial to both them and him. How much of that was his choice, how much was a lack of action on Liverpool managements side and how much was orchestrated by RM we don’t know. Therein lies the problem.
Given the willingness of many to believe some rather negative things about him, I’m not sure anything he could say would make a difference.
There would certainly be plenty who wouldn’t believe him. But not addressing it at all is a mistake I think.
How many baying mobs have ever been defused by their target?
I don’t think there was any way for Trent to satisfy everyone with how he announced the news. It’s mostly because it is news we didn’t especially want to hear. So at that point it would be easy to find fault no matter how he managed the news, if one was so inclined.
The main thing I didn’t like about it was that it chopped the club out of things financially. Trent will get a large signing bonus. Real Madrid will get a great player on a free. Liverpool will get nothing, but we will have to spend money to strengthen.
Real Madrid are the richest club in the world, having just passed the 1 Billion revenue threshold. They should have paid something, even a fairly modest fee.
People overlook that and say Trent fulfilled his contract. On the one hand they are quite right. He did. On the other hand, football is a unique industry and people don’t just sign contracts, fulfil them, and move on. Transfer fees are a huge part of the industry, and in this case, Trent was a very valuable asset who ensured that he lined his own pocket while the club who made him what he is gets nothing.
That’s what I don’t like. Moving onto another challenge at a huge club, in the sunshine, etc. I more than understand that. Good luck, and I do mean that, and at the same time, I’m also disappointed in how it ended.
