My only criticism is the timing of his announcement. Do it after the last game and the title parade, not before that.
It’s a minor point. He leaves with all my best wishes for his new experience.

My thoughts on the timing (or poor timing) of his announcement, was brought about because RM need/want his services to begin before his contract had run its course, due to the RM Club World Cup involvement…
IMO, TAA had the opportunity to tell RM he doesn’t want to make an early announcement, not just because it could rock the boat at Anfield… nor because it could damage his own Anfield legacy with the fanbase, but because, to date, he has manipulated the exact type of move that benefits TAA, before anyone, or anything else. Having your cake and eating it springs to mind.
Lets not kid ourselves here, he has already jumped ship, and the manner in which everything has happened could have been handled so much better…
Yet TAA needs to remember one important facet in all this… to RM he has become an asset that has/will put money in their bank one day… If they had to pay a reasonable fee to LFC for him, the chances are they would have had no interest in signing him..!!
Even if Edwards was a Scouser, there would be no need to get ‘spiteful’ or ‘vindictive’ as we have been judged so on here… instead, just keep TAA until the last day of his contract, and it is too late for him and RM to get their way of having TAA involved in their world cup club endeavours… and help them secure the £100m prize money for winning it..! Fuck them, is what I say :0)

I find it hard to fathom, why Trent if he believed in his talent and truly loved us, why he couldn’t have done something akin to what Macca did at Brighton.
Then if RM aren’t interested then it just proves they dont value him enough.
I would have hoped that he would have enough pride in himself and his ability to do as Macca did and call RM’s bluff and if they didn’t then want to buy him he would have dodged a bullet.
Thinking of this just proves what player and person we have in Macca, felt enough for Brighton, to extend his contract with a low buyout clause, therefore, ensuring Brighton got something for him and repaying them for believing in him and helping him to become the player he his.
Hold on, there’s no need for that. Since people are so preoccupied with him leaving on a free, Real Madrid could just pay us exactly the sum of the prize money for winning the Club World Cup in exchange for an early release from his contract. I’d see that as a win-win.
Well he becomes a free agent, so he can sign for who he wants. I suppose the only thing that could cause an issue would be if he picked up a serious injury before completion. That’s unlikely, given that we will be playing Bradley as much as possible for the last two games.
