I actually don’t wish him that. I wish him good luck in his personal life, and that trying something new in his life is personally rewarding, but as someone who has no interest in seeing England nor Real Madrid win anything, I hope his professional life takes a nosedive, except in an Ireland-win-the-game-but-Krum-gets-the-Snitch way.
Fair enough on that. I don’t want Real Madrid to win anything either!
Ok
Were you ever at a game before SKY invented football?
Where players wete told if they were playing shite?
Modern players have a lot more respect, and a better form of earning and living.
Your short career thing is bollox by the way. The modern players are set up for life.
You could have left it alone.
I hadn’t been invented yet.
Would still have said the same.
Perfect ending. Thanks Jürgen for turning it around.
Now we can move on.
Y.N.W.A.
Bye Trent.
Close the door behind you.
Edit - Booooooo
As expected, the Anfield crowd didn’t need to reiterate the message it had already sent to Trent. Today was all about the title celebration, and what a celebration it was! Great stuff!
Was always likely to be the case. He got some stick a couple of weeks ago - the fans let him know how they felt, and they were entitled to do so - and that was that. It wasn’t going to happen again, and today was about the celebrations.
A bit of booing is hardly the end of the world, and I’d say the media made more of this than was ever the case. I’m sure he is fine, and if he isn’t he isn’t going to know what hit him in Madrid. He won’t be indulged to half arse his defensive duties over there.
You’re even more deluded than I thought if you think what JK said made any difference.
While I agree with you that it’s time to move on I just wanted to note that I thought I saw a player post match who looked unhappy with his choice. We must remember that Stevie Gerrard came very close to leaving (for Chelsea!) and (allegedly) needed ‘persuasion’ to change his mind. Well he now has to live with his choice.
We are going to miss Trent. Was a driving force this season with Salah to the title. Such a pivotal player.
I am so disappointed he decided to leave.
Now off to change my avatar.
Grav is a good choice. Worried you may pick Ibou and we have a repeat in 12 months
Trent is absolutely crushed with this.
There’s a sense in which we all become body language experts when the cameras are on and we are watching them closely. In this instance there is a story with Trent, and even though he made his decision, I’m as certain as can be that it wasn’t easy, and there will be some regrets and what-ifs wrapped up in it for him. He was deep in thought in the midst of the celebrations and it would be natural for him to be thinking about his decision to leave all that behind.
He is moving on, and so are we.
On a human level I hope he does well, but as a football fan I don’t want Real Madrid to win anything. Don’t like them! On our end it would be lovely if Slot made winning the league a bit of a habit, and also managed to win the CL. It’s not too far fetched to imagine us facing Real Madrid at the sharp end of the CL in the next couple of years. It will all add to the spice of the occasion if and when it happens.
You never know. Maybe he’ll do a Ian Rush and be back next summer, eh?
Maybe Madrid might send him back to us on a free
Probably the most likely scenario.
They will send him back if we end up playing them in the CL final, and he gives a penalty away to us :0)
