Yan Diomande (Winger) RB Leipzig

Wirtz is signing for red bull

Yankuba Minteh has been a long term target of ours. He doesn’t have the output you would expect of some who has his level of skill, pace and power but he could be a brilliant signing in the long term.

Biggest issue with him is that it would mean trying to sign someone from Brighton so the price will undoubtedly be in the ballpark of Diomande.

Was he not struggling to get in the Brighton team at times this season? Seemed to be on the bench a lot. Maybe carrying an injury

Would be good to have a left footer

Yes, although I think Brighton have a tendancy of heavily rotating their team so I wouldn’t necessarily read too much into it.

But also as I said its true that he doesn’t have the output you would hope and that would be a major growth area for him.

This to many was viewed as a poor performance. Yet this was a game where he got wacked early and seemed to struggle to shake it off, and still created the opening goal and generally terrified the German side by his presence even if little else came off for him. This to me is the most enticing thing about him. I am sure our guys had a way to quantify it, but it was the thing that was also so valuable about Sadio in a way that the goals and assists stats alone couldn’t pick up. You put this guy on the right wing and the space that naturally opens on the other side will turn Cody from the guy we saw last year to the World Cup version who is now on track to become their greatest world cup goal scorer of all time.

Exactly…he terrifies opponents. That’s exactly what we need to keep opposing back lines honest. Aside from Rio, who played limited minutes, nobody on the wing for us incited any fear from opposing fullbacks. Yan (and Rio) are handfuls and will need to be doubled. Think about what that can do for Wirtz, Isak, etc. We desperately need this threat.

I still think this will get done. I suspect it is further along than we know, that the player wants to come, and the haggling is over the structure, possibly not so much the top line transfer fee. Could obviously be wrong, but these things are usually a bit further along than we know.

Leipzig will have wanted the player to stay another season, but I think he has indicated he wants to leave this summer. Then Leipzig will be wanting to get a bidding war going, and if it is Liverpool v PSG we are ready to go, but they need a delay in order to clear the decks a bit.

My best guess is that’s where it could still be vulnerable for us, if it continues to delay. Therefore my suspicion is we are pressing to get it done while we can.

We will know one way or the other soon enough.

Who the hell is Ekrem Konur?
Why does he think we haven’t signed Munõz yet?
Does he think we’re signing all three?

Ekrem KONUR must have some legitimacy, since he is being followed by Ornstein

I’m followed by lots of famous people, but I’m often described as illegitimate
