Yan Diomande (Winger) RB Leipzig

I don’t actually care, if we miss out as long as we are seeking alternatives and not doing the usual that had been a trait for us then it’s fine.

Without knowing the overall budget, who else we are going for, and how much those other signings would cost, it’s impossible to say how much I would go up to to for Diomande.

He seems the best winger out there, and in a world where players are going for ridiculous sums, it feels like £120M might be needed.

If Barcola is the alternate, because Diomande gets too expensive, or PSG beat us to the signing, great, as he’s a smashing player. Mind you, he would probably cost £100M+ too. And if we won’t pay it, Arsenal or someone else will.

I would hang in there for Diomande if it were my decision. If and when that ship sails, there are a few others who might come into play. However it pans out I’m confident we will have lots of pace and quality on the flanks next season.

I’m happy with what the club decide, I’m a fan.

We have options at CB, at RB and in midfield and it’s quite possible that Iraola can do something with that.

But if we don’t go for our ‘A+ Solution’ at RW we might even struggle to finish Top4 again.

Well we have options but not very good ones. Only 1 senior CB who is ever fit and he´s getting older. No right back who is fit and doubts over both. Pretty average set of midfielders.

What if getting Barcola for 75 mil, as the poster suggested, meant we could get a really good midfielder or centre back and RB with the extra 50 mil or so?

Not saying that is definitely the case, but worth thinking about.

From what I’ve seen journalists say, the club has a limit they are willing to go to for Diomande. I’m happy with them to judge that themselves.

That’s the point of contention though. Is he an A+ solution? Or is he just a B+ or A solution (who could become A+) that costs more than others just because he is the flavor of the month.

Real Madrid have joined Liverpool and Paris St-Germain in the race to sign Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, 19, from RB Leipzig. (El Debate - in Spanish)

Does feel at this point that RBL are trying to get anyone into a bidding war.

This kinda thing I always find odd.

Surely these teams knew who they wanted months ago as the season unfolded. So Madrid should have always been in for him.

Maybe they genuinely do just get to summer and think “right, now what”.

Unless it’s coming from a reliable source, never rule out that it’s just made up to get views or being put around by an agent to try and get a better contract offer or get some movement to happen from other clubs.

I think it’s personally bollocks, I think it seems somewhat obvious that PSG aren’t interested but RBL need a bidding war as they know the lad is now open to a move (something that wasn’t forthcoming prior to the season end).

So they will get “El Debate” to run this.

Why is his contract coming to an end and they want him on a free :face_blowing_a_kiss:

Bollocks otherwise.

Just looking at Diaz tonight for Columbia, not much of a threat really so perhaps not the worst to be looking for new options

You think we should sell Diaz?

Easily, we have Gakpo to fill his boots and a young lad by the name of Rio

I take that as tongue in cheek :upside_down_face:
It’s always hard to tell but I just wonder if he would have really helped us much in goals and created chances last season if he would have stayed.

Well, reverse Ornstein bomb

Fuck off. Have fun sitting on the bench. We want players who want to help build the next champion, not ride on their coattails.

Didn’t Ornstein hang his hat on Slot staying as well? Right up until he got sacked. Whatever happens, happens but hanging onto all these guys word as gospel is folly.
