Yeah i agree , if @Nikola started the thread it would have been closed after 5 minutes …but since @JibJab created it and he is not a curse with transfers like Nikola…its still not doomed ![]()
Yep, until he moves somewhere this transfer is neither totally dead nor totally alive… think of it as Schroedinger’s Transfer ![]()
As Nikola enters the chat confirming he is definitely joining us…

I wonder if we reached our max in terms of a fee and bowed out of the race. Also, reports keep saying he chooses PSG this summer “if” he makes a move. I know Leipzig want to keep him for one more season, so he may stay.

This spoofer been found out…now claims he was told last week it off…but didnt want to say.
Complete fraudster
What we paid for Mane made him one of the most expensive signings of the summer and our second most expensive signing of all time (by a trivial margin). Mane had played in the prem, but it was far from universal that such experience meant he was “proven” given it was only Southampton. It was both a big investment for the time and one that generated a lot of doubt and confusion from large sections of the fan base for why werent going in for someone with more star power and more likely to succeed if we were willing to spend that much money.
It was a similar situation with Mo the following year. Both were big investments that large sections of the fan base thought was irresponsible.
Yeah they all seem to have been told last week but for people who tweet for a living seemed to think it wasn’t worth it?
Abe will be our Messi. Mark my words. ![]()
By July 1st?
You had me at hello.
And let’s not forget PSG have a history of splurging big fees on “the next big thing” and then discarding them a couple years later.
Ramos is the latest but before him was Kolo Muani, Ekitike, Ugarte. Zabarnyi and that keeper already look to be at potential risk. Surely Barcola is now also on his way out now too and maybe Kang-in Lee.
If he starts slow or fails to establish himself he could easily be back on the market before he turns 23.
For sure, but on the surface, this looks like an upgrade to Barcola as 4th choice. Their attacking talent/depth is just silly.
Kang, Ramos and Barcola played a lot of football last year despite the strength of the preferred front 3. However there is a clear preference for that front 3 and for a lot of players you can only really stick in that role for a couple of years before motivation suffers. The bigger the name the more relevant that is and so that seems to be the main motivation for these 3 seemingly being phased out rather than them looking for an upgrade as such.
Just don’t want another dragged out Isak situation.
We’ve moved on, I don’t doubt it. The fact that we haven’t gone back in for another bid is all the sign we need.
It sucks, but it is what it is.
I get the impression that Leipzig weren’t too happy with the conduct of his agents. It’s interesting, because the business relationship between the clubs has always seemed cordial.
I honestly would t read anything into that story. There is so much blagging going on in social media these days and this story comes from a known blagger, and comes across as someone needing to find a way to squeeze more clips out of the Liverpool story
Meh, for a kid who should be showcasing his talent to the world at the World Cup he hasn’t exactly set the stadiums alight with his play. I’ve been sceptical about paying 86-100m for an inexperienced 19 year old from the start. If he comes good then fair play to PSG but it’s a gamble. Looking at our goalie-filled subs bench last season and weighing up the injury attrition likely from Iraola chaos theory, then I’m all for adding as many bodies as possible to the squad. There’s lots of great players (like Monoz) out there for decent money and with Iraola’s record of improving players we should focus on squad depth. Hasn’t done Arsenal any harm.
So it’s done right?

We can close this thread?
I don’t know what to make of this. We don’t really come out of this looking professional. Have we been strung along just to get handle price up? He didn’t just randomly choose PSG, it must have been in his mind for some time. Regardless of how good a player is, if we are not his top choice we should immediately walk away.
